PlayStation Showcase 2023, Complete List of Every Game Announced: God of War Ragnarok, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Wolverine, and More

Sony really brought the house down at their PlayStation Showcase with a slew of impressive games, both from their own studios and from a solid selection of third-party developers. The first two thirds of the showcase showcased largely third-party titles, such as the highly anticipated title from Lumimous Productions, Forspoken, which obtained a spring 2022 release date.

Sony’s PlayStation Studios took center stage in the latter third of the Showcase, showcasing an impressive array of first-party games. Rockstar Games also made an appearance, bringing with it a new trailer for the enhanced and expanded version of GTA 5, as well as a release date for the PlayStation 5 version of GTA Online.

Every game featured in the PlayStation Showcase 2023

1) Knights of the Old Republic Remake (PS5)

The PlayStation Showcase’s opening bombshell was the PS5 recreation of Knights of the Old Republic by Lucasfilm Games and Aspyr. With all the next-gen bells and whistles, fans of the Star Wars franchise are sure to be overjoyed at the idea of experiencing one of the most adored stone-cold classics among Star Wars videogames.

2) Project Eve

The following trailer was really wild, with some impressively grandiose hack-and-slash gameplay that looked a lot like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. In terms of both gameplay and presentation, Eve Shiftup appears to be a lot of fun, with a refreshing lack of self-importance.

3) Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

Combining Baby Metal’s style of chaotic, humorous action with Gearbox’s was undoubtedly a stroke of genius. Even more clever is the Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands setting, in which fantastical beings open fire on one another without batting an eye.

Fans of Gearbox’s previous looter-shooters like Borderlands will be excited to see them return to the genre.

4) Forspoken

One of the more enigmatic titles shown off at last year’s PlayStation 5 Reveal Event was Luminous Production’s Forspoken. The game developed on the plot’s premise and displayed the gorgeous universe’s stunning visuals, which is full of intriguing features and home to terrifying monsters and creatures that are equally well-crafted.

While the trailer focused primarily on Forspoken’s story, it did show off a good chunk of gameplay, and it looks promising. Forspoken comes out in spring 2022 and is surely going to be something to keep an eye on next year.

5) Rainbow Six Extraction

Ubisoft’s original Rainbow Six Extraction seemed like your typical Rainbow Six experience, except for the evident horde of zombies in the game’s cinematic trailer. That’s not meant as a criticism, though, because a typical Rainbow Six game is still one of the best shooters out there right now. It will be available in January of 2022.

6) Alan Wake Remaster, PS5

Remedy Entertainment is bringing back Alan Wake, one of its most successful games, as it has become the gaming industry’s worst-kept secret in recent weeks. Fans of the series should not miss out on the Alan Wake Remaster for the PS5, but even those who haven’t played any of the games in the series before will have a great time with the PS5 port.

7) GTA V: Expanded and Enhanced Edition/GTA Online

As previously said, Rockstar Games happily turned up to the PlayStation Showcase after months upon months of radio silence after announcing GTA V: Expanded and Enhanced Edition. The release date of November 21, 2021, has been set for the game, but few details have been revealed about what players can anticipate.

“Enhanced gameplay” and “seamless character switching” were thrown about throughout the teaser, but they didn’t really explain much. At the end of the trailer, a March 2022 release date for next-gen systems running GTA Online was revealed.

8) Ghostwire Tokyo

The more we learn about Ghostwire Tokyo, the more confusing and terrible it seems. The game’s teaser showcased excellent visuals on top of what appears to be quite entertaining and original gameplay that involves a lot of pointing, making it look like a wonderful blend of action and horror.

Ghoswrie Tokyo is probably one of the most interesting titles on the horizon for PlayStation owners to look forward to.

9) Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

A new teaser for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy was released, with the usual Guardians shenanigans (i.e., lots of Peter Quill jokes), but this is far from the only time Marvel will make an appearance at the 2017 PlayStation Showcase. On October 26, 2021, you can purchase the video game.

10) Vampire the Masquerade: Blood Hunt

The trailer for Blood Hunt depicts not just vampires but also vampires with firearms and all sorts of other fascinating abilities, which is sure to spark the curiosity of many players. The game’s trailer provided a good glimpse into the action, showcasing the several types of vampires players will command and the somewhat ominous-looking military types they will face as enemies.

11) Deathloop

The release date for Deathloop is quickly approaching (September 14, 2021), and the video should help players who are on the fence decide. Deathloop is one of the most anticipated third-party games for the PS5, and with a track record like Arkane Studios’, it’s easy to see why.

Deathloop’s basic gameplay loop is unusual to say the least, and it looks like gamers are in for a crazy journey in terms of the narrative and tale, which surely look like a doozy.

12) Kid A Mnesia Exhibition

To say that this trailer for something involving Radiohead is convoluted and unclear is an understatement. An “upside-down digital/analogue universe created from original artwork and recordings,” the Kid A Mnesia Exhibition celebrates Radiohead’s iconic albums “Kid A” and “Amnesia” by taking visitors on a journey through the albums’ cryptic artwork and music.

13) Tchia

Tchia, which was revealed in 2020, was one of the highlights at the 2020 Game Awards, and this clip from the PlayStation Showcase confirms that. If the game’s stunning visuals don’t hook gamers, its touching story and endearing protagonist will.

14) The Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection for PC and PS5

PlayStation has confirmed that Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy will be remastered for both the PS5 and PC, ending months of rumors and speculation about an Uncharted Collection coming to PC. This is huge for PC gamers since it means they can enjoy the immersive story and cutting-edge gameplay of Uncharted on their preferred platform.

15) Marvel’s Wolverine

This is not the only time Marvel has a representative at the showcase; in fact, it’s far from the only time anyone’s favorite mutant, Wolverine, has made an appearance. Even from the trailer, it’s clear that this new game from Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank creators Insomniac Games will be very different.

Marvel’s Wolverine has a darker and more brutal tone than the PG movies of the 2000s and is therefore more faithful to the books. There is no doubt that Marvel’s Wolverine will send Marvel’s fanbase into a complete and total panic.

16) Gran Turismo 7

When Gran Turismo 7 is released in March 2022, Polyphony Digital will once again showcase its unparalleled visual and technical prowess. The trailer showed us the finely made machinery as well as the game setting.

PlayStation Studios’ head explained how Dualsense’s adaptive triggers make Gran Turismo 7 for the PS5 a better game in their post-reveal interview with Herman Hulst.

17) Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

That’s right, this is the grand finale of PlayStation Showcase’s Marvel offerings. Ratchet & Clank and its sequel, as well as Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, are just a few examples of Insomniac Games’ recent run of home runs.

The team is back in action as Miles and Peter team up to combat an old foe: the symbiote Venom.

18) God of War Ragnarok

Fans finally got to experience God of War: Ragnarok in its entirety after months of anticipation. Santa Monica Studios surprised everyone by showcasing not only story moments and narrative components but also gameplay, in which our favorite angry Greek deity takes on Freya and other new monster types in a wide range of environments.

God of War Ragnarok will come out for both the PS4 and the PS5 sometime in 2022; the exact release date has not yet been revealed.
